KYOEI To-Gi 705 CMB Irons 4-PW – White Mist Satin – Semi Sharp Toe / Triple Cut Sole
$2,400.00
Raw forging to finished club, by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Every head one of one, finished by eye and by feel.
A forging arrives thick, heavy and approximate. What it becomes depends entirely on what a person removes, and on knowing when to stop.
TOGI 研ぎ is the Japanese word for that work: sharpening, grinding, polishing by hand.
Hand ground in Japan. One of one.
TO-GI is a KYOEI head taken from raw forging to finished club by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Not a machine finish with a hand check at the end. The sole, the leading edge, the relief and the neck are all shaped by eye and by feel, one head at a time.
Because the work is done by hand, no two heads come off the wheel the same.
Available Spec: Heads Only – #4-PW – White Mist Satin

THIS SET
Model: 705 CMB TO-GI, #4 to PW, 7 pieces. A true players cavity back with blade presence. The cavity sits behind a compact profile with a 5.2 mm topline through the set, so the head reads as a muscle back from above and works as a players cavity through impact.
Finish: White Satin Mist. A fine even mist held at satin, pale and cool in tone and closer to white than silver. There is no direction to the finish and no hot spot anywhere on the head, so glare off the topline is gone completely. The particular advantage of a pale mist on a hand ground club is that it is honest. With no shine to flatter the metal, every line the grinder cut shows in plain daylight exactly as it is.
Face shape: Semi Sharp Toe. Between the two standard profiles. The toe is carried up and squared off, but the corner is softened and the radius kept tight instead of finished on a hard angle. The head reads compact and defined at address without the severity of a full sharp toe, and keeps enough curve at the top to give a shape to aim at. Mass held up in the toe keeps the face settled through impact, with the centre of gravity a little higher and further out than a standard toe.
Sole grind: Triple Cut. The leading edge is killed. The trailing edge is killed. What is left is a narrow central band carrying all the ground contact, so the sole meets very little resistance in either direction. The head feels fast and neutral rather than supported, and with no wide flat area to push back on a steep strike, the grind wants a shallower delivery and firm turf.
Leading edge: Killed as part of the triple cut. Taken back and blended flat so nothing catches on entry from a tight lie.
Relief: Heel and toe relief opened through the scoring irons and kept behind the profile, so the toe line at address is unchanged while the face opens freely.
Neck: Blended into the topline until the transition disappears. One continuous line at address.
Notes on this set: The pale finishes are the hardest to hide behind and this is the set that proves it. A white mist over a hand ground 705 puts the shaping out in the open, the sole cuts, the relief, the way the neck runs into the topline, all visible without a reflection doing any of the work. Semi sharp toe and triple cut sole underneath make it a specialist’s club, built for a shallow delivery on firm ground, with a profile that stays compact without going severe.
