KYOEI To-Gi 705 CMB Irons 4-PW – Satin Nickel Polished – Semi Sharp Toe / Triple Cut Sole
$2,400.00
Raw forging to finished club, by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Every head one of one, finished by eye and by feel.
A forging arrives thick, heavy and approximate. What it becomes depends entirely on what a person removes, and on knowing when to stop.
TOGI 研ぎ is the Japanese word for that work: sharpening, grinding, polishing by hand.
Hand ground in Japan. One of one.
TO-GI is a KYOEI head taken from raw forging to finished club by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Not a machine finish with a hand check at the end. The sole, the leading edge, the relief and the neck are all shaped by eye and by feel, one head at a time.
Because the work is done by hand, no two heads come off the wheel the same.

THIS SET
Model: 705 CMB TO-GI, #4 to PW, 7 pieces. A true players cavity back with blade presence. A compact profile carrying a 5.2 mm topline through the set with the cavity hidden behind it, so the head looks like a muscle back at address and works like a players cavity through the ball.
Finish: Satin Nickel Polished. Nickel is a warmer metal than chrome and it shows here, a softer and slightly creamier tone than a bright chrome satin. The body is held at satin and the polish is brought up on the shaped surfaces, so the highlights land where the grinder worked and the rest of the head stays calm. Of all the finishes in the range this is the one that most rewards close inspection, because the contrast between satin and polish traces the shaping directly.
Face shape: Semi Sharp Toe. The middle of the three profiles. The toe is carried up and given a defined corner with the point softened and the radius held tight, so the head reads compact and squared without the severity of a full sharp toe. Enough curve remains at the top of the toe to give a shape to aim against. Mass carried up in the toe keeps the face steady through impact and puts the centre of gravity slightly higher and further out than a standard toe.
Sole grind: Triple Cut. Leading edge killed, trailing edge killed, a narrow band down the centre left to carry the ground contact. Very little turf resistance entering or leaving, so the head moves fast and feels neutral rather than supported. With no wide flat area behind the leading edge to push back on a steep strike, the grind is built for a shallower delivery and firmer ground.
Leading edge: Killed as part of the triple cut, taken right back and blended flat for clean entry off a tight lie.
Relief: Heel and toe relief opened through the scoring irons and tucked behind the profile, so the toe reads unchanged at address while the face opens freely.
Neck: Blended into the topline until the transition disappears. One continuous line from hosel to toe.
Notes on this set: The most decorative finish in the TO-GI range, and the only one that uses polish as a way of pointing at the hand work rather than covering it. Nickel’s warmth suits the compact 705 shape better than a cold chrome does, and the satin body keeps the glare down where it matters at address. Underneath it is the same specialist package as the other semi sharp builds, a low contact sole for firm turf and a shallow strike, with a profile that stays tight without going hard.
