KYOEI To-Gi 605 MB Irons 4-PW – Brushed Chrome Satin – Sharp Toe / Triple Cut Sole
$2,400.00
Raw forging to finished club, by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Every head one of one, finished by eye and by feel.
A forging arrives thick, heavy and approximate. What it becomes depends entirely on what a person removes, and on knowing when to stop.
TOGI 研ぎ is the Japanese word for that work: sharpening, grinding, polishing by hand.
Hand ground in Japan. One of one.
TO-GI is a KYOEI head taken from raw forging to finished club by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Not a machine finish with a hand check at the end. The sole, the leading edge, the relief and the neck are all shaped by eye and by feel, one head at a time.
Because the work is done by hand, no two heads come off the wheel the same.

THIS SET
Model: 605 MB TO-GI, #4 to PW, 7 pieces. The adjustable weight muscle back on the compact TO-GI footprint, with a weight port that tunes the head without changing the profile.
Finish: Brushed Chrome Satin. The brightest finish in the 605 line. Chrome brushed in one direction and held at satin rather than taken to a mirror, so it carries the warmth and depth of chrome with the glare pulled out of it. The brush lines run with the shape of the head and pick up a soft moving highlight as the club turns in the light. This is the traditional Japanese iron finish, and the one that makes a forged muscle back look like what it is.
Face shape: Sharp Toe. Carried up and squared off to a defined corner rather than rolled away. Shorter heel to toe at address and tighter behind the ball, with the topline running out to a clean point. Mass held high in the toe sits further from the shaft axis, keeping the face settled through impact and lifting the centre of gravity slightly toward the upper toe. Flatter flight bias and a firmer, higher pitched feel toward the toe.
Sole grind: Triple Cut. Leading edge killed, trailing edge killed, a narrow band down the centre left to carry the ground contact. Turf resistance is very low entering and leaving, so the head moves quickly and feels neutral rather than supported. With no wide flat area to push back against a steep strike, the grind is built for a shallower delivery and firm ground.
Leading edge: Killed as part of the triple cut. Taken right back and blended flat so the head enters clean off a tight lie.
Relief: Heel and toe relief opened through the scoring irons and kept behind the profile, so the sharp toe reads unchanged at address while the face opens freely.
Neck: Blended into the topline until the transition disappears. One continuous line at address.
Notes on this set: The classic of the group. Sharp toe, triple cut sole and a brushed chrome satin is the most traditional package KYOEI will put on a hand ground muscle back, and it is the set that looks most like a Japanese forging is supposed to look. The brightness is the trade off. In hard sun there is more light coming back off this head than off any of the mist or matte finishes, which some players want and some do not. Ground for a shallow delivery on firm turf.
