KYOEI To-Gi 605 MB Irons 4-PW – White Mist Satin – Sharp Toe / Triple Cut Sole

$2,400.00

Raw forging to finished club, by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Every head one of one, finished by eye and by feel.

A forging arrives thick, heavy and approximate. What it becomes depends entirely on what a person removes, and on knowing when to stop.

TOGI 研ぎ is the Japanese word for that work: sharpening, grinding, polishing by hand.

Hand ground in Japan. One of one.

TO-GI is a KYOEI head taken from raw forging to finished club by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Not a machine finish with a hand check at the end. The sole, the leading edge, the relief and the neck are all shaped by eye and by feel, one head at a time.

Because the work is done by hand, no two heads come off the wheel the same.

Available Spec: Heads Only – #4-PW – White Mist Satin

THIS SET

Model: 605 MB TO-GI, #4 to PW, 7 pieces. The adjustable weight muscle back. Smaller footprint throughout, shorter blade length, thinner topline, narrower sole and less overall head than the 705. The weight port lets the head be tuned without touching the shape.

Finish: White Mist Satin. A fine, even mist laid over the whole head with no directional grain to it. The tone sits pale and cool, closer to white than to silver, and it kills glare completely. In full sun the head reads as a flat pale shape with no hot spots anywhere along the topline.

Face shape: Sharp Toe. The toe is carried up and squared off rather than rolled away, so the profile finishes on a line instead of a curve. At address the head looks shorter heel to toe and sits tighter behind the ball, and the topline runs to a clean corner rather than fading out. Carrying material high in the toe puts mass further from the shaft axis, which keeps the face settled through impact and lifts the centre of gravity slightly toward the upper toe. That is a flatter flight bias and a firmer, higher pitched feel out toward the toe.

Sole grind: Triple Cut. Three separate cuts shape this sole. The leading edge is killed. The trailing edge is killed. What sits between them is a narrow central band, and that band is all the club rides on. Ground contact is minimal and turf resistance is very low in both directions, so the head feels quick and neutral rather than supported. There is no wide flat area pushing back against a steep strike, which is why this grind rewards a shallower delivery and firmer ground.

Leading edge: Killed as part of the triple cut, taken right back and blended flat so nothing catches on entry from a tight lie.

Relief: Heel and toe relief opened through the scoring irons, with the toe relief tucked in behind the sharp profile so the shape at address stays untouched. More freedom to open the face without the leading edge rising.

Neck: Blended into the topline until the transition disappears. One continuous line from hosel to toe at address.

Notes on this set: This is the most demanding combination in the 605 line. The compact muscle back footprint, the hardest toe profile and the sole with the least ground contact of the two grinds. The White Mist finish is the practical reason to choose it over the brighter satins, because there is no reflection off the topline at any sun angle, and on a pale flat finish every line the grinder cut is visible in plain daylight. Ground for a player with a shallow delivery who plays firm turf and wants the smallest head KYOEI makes.
