KYOEI To-Gi 605 MB Irons 4-PW – Black Mirror Chrome – Standard Toe / Semi V Sole

$2,400.00

Raw forging to finished club, by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Every head one of one, finished by eye and by feel.

A forging arrives thick, heavy and approximate. What it becomes depends entirely on what a person removes, and on knowing when to stop.

TOGI 研ぎ is the Japanese word for that work: sharpening, grinding, polishing by hand.

Hand ground in Japan. One of one.

TO-GI is a KYOEI head taken from raw forging to finished club by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Not a machine finish with a hand check at the end. The sole, the leading edge, the relief and the neck are all shaped by eye and by feel, one head at a time.

Because the work is done by hand, no two heads come off the wheel the same.

Available Spec: Heads Only – #4-PW – Black Mirror Chrome ( Sticky ) – Standard Toe

THIS SET

Model: 605 MB TO-GI, #4 to PW, 7 pieces. The adjustable weight muscle back on the compact TO-GI footprint, with a weight port that lets the head be tuned without changing a line of the shape.

Finish: Black Mirror Chrome, sticky. A deep reflective black polished to a full mirror, wet looking rather than bright. The reflection stays dark, so the head shows its own curves back to you instead of the sky, and the shaping reads clearly in any light.

Face shape: Standard Toe. The toe rolls away in one continuous radius rather than finishing on a corner. The profile looks slightly longer and fuller at address, which gives more shape to line up against and makes the face easier to square by eye. Mass sits spread evenly across the head rather than carried high in the toe, so the centre of gravity stays nearer the middle of the face and the feel is more consistent across the hitting area.

Sole grind: Semi V. A soft V ridge runs down the centre of the sole and tapers off hard just past the middle, so the front half narrows toward the leading edge while the trailing half stays full. The head presents a line to the ground rather than a flat plate, so it cuts in cleanly instead of bouncing off. Because the taper sits forward of centre, the part the club actually rides on is set back, which keeps the leading edge out of the ground on a steeper delivery without the head feeling like it is skipping across the top.

Leading edge: Rolled into the front of the V and blended, sitting just off the ground at address and staying out of the way through impact. Open the face and the V rolls onto its heel side, dropping the leading edge so the head still sits down on a tight lie.

Relief: Moderate heel and toe relief through the scoring irons, enough to open the face around the green while leaving the trailing half of the sole full.

Neck: Blended into the topline until the transition disappears. One continuous line at address.

Notes on this set: Same finish as the sharp toe triple cut set, opposite intent underneath. The standard toe gives a fuller profile to aim with and the Semi V keeps a working sole that does not mind softer ground, so this is the 605 for a player who wants the small muscle back look without committing to the narrowest sole in the line. The mirror black is doing the same job either way, showing the hand work in the reflection and taking glare off the topline.
