KYOEI To-Gi 605 MB Irons 4-PW – White Brushed Satin – Sharp Toe / Triple Cut Sole

$2,400.00

Raw forging to finished club, by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Every head one of one, finished by eye and by feel.

A forging arrives thick, heavy and approximate. What it becomes depends entirely on what a person removes, and on knowing when to stop.

TOGI 研ぎ is the Japanese word for that work: sharpening, grinding, polishing by hand.

Hand ground in Japan. One of one.

TO-GI is a KYOEI head taken from raw forging to finished club by hand, by one grinder in Japan. Not a machine finish with a hand check at the end. The sole, the leading edge, the relief and the neck are all shaped by eye and by feel, one head at a time.

Because the work is done by hand, no two heads come off the wheel the same.

Available Spec: Heads Only – #4-PW – White Brushed Satin

THIS SET

Model: 605 MB TO-GI, #4 to PW, 7 pieces. The adjustable weight muscle back, built on the smaller of the two TO-GI footprints. Shorter blade, thinner topline, narrower sole, less head overall, with a weight port that tunes the head without altering the profile.

Finish: White Brushed Satin. Directional brush lines run heel to toe across the back and sole, so the finish holds a low sheen along the grain and goes flat across it. Pale and cool in tone like the mist, but with movement in it. Turn the head in the light and the brushing reads as a soft band travelling across the muscle rather than a point of glare.

Face shape: Sharp Toe. The toe is carried up and finished on a defined corner rather than rolled away. The head looks shorter heel to toe and frames the ball tightly, and the topline runs out to a clean point. Mass carried high in the toe sits further from the shaft axis, which holds the face steadier through impact and pulls the centre of gravity a touch higher and further out. Flatter flight bias, firmer feel toward the toe.

Sole grind: Triple Cut. The leading edge is killed. The trailing edge is killed. A narrow band down the centre is all that is left to ride on, so the sole moves through turf with very little resistance going in or coming out. Nothing drags on release and nothing digs on entry, which gives the head a quick, neutral feel instead of a supported one. No wide flat area means a steep strike gets no help back, so this grind wants a shallower delivery and firm ground.

Leading edge: Killed as part of the triple cut. Taken back and blended flat, so the edge sits clear of the turf and the head enters from a tight lie without catching.

Relief: Heel and toe relief opened through the scoring irons, kept behind the profile so the sharp toe line reads the same at address. The face opens freely without lifting the leading edge.

Neck: Blended into the topline until the transition disappears. One continuous line at address.

Notes on this set: The brushing is the only difference between this set and the White Mist, and it changes the character more than it sounds. The mist is completely dead in the light, the brush keeps a directional shine that follows the shape of the muscle. On a head this small that movement makes the back of the club look longer and lower than it measures. Same hard geometry underneath, sharp toe and the lowest ground contact of the two grinds, for a shallow swing on firm turf.
